新樂冰室
Sun Lok Café is an authentic Hong Kong style diner (Cha Chaan Teng 茶餐廳) located downhill of the iconic Lion Rock. The brand identity is greatly inspired by the unique diner / café (冰室) culture and style in Hong Kong which is heavily inherited as a mid-century modern tone in pastel green and beige hues. The custom made Chinese wordmark is meticolously crafted with vintage style in a consistent approach, so as the typeface picked for English wordmark.
The brand symbol pays tribute to the neighborhood where the shop is located — Tsz Wan Shan (慈雲山)— the famous hilly neighborhood with Lion Rock (獅子山) as the natural symbolic backdrop. The two “hills” in the symbol exemplify the geographical location of the restaurant, the Lion Rock spirit of Hongkonger, and the bond of the two brothers — S & L, the fundamental making everything of Sun Lok Café achievable.
